We keep talking about psychological safety like it is a strategy you can roll out. It is not.Safety is a feeling. And you cannot strategise a feeling into someone. Here is what the science actually tells us:

As a leader, you can influence psychological safety significantly. Your behaviour, your consistency, your willingness to be vulnerable  all of it creates the conditions for safety to grow. But you cannot deliver it completely. Because safety also requires something to shift in the individual. In their nervous system. In the patterns they carry.

What you can do and this is scientifically backed  is close the gap between what you intend and what your team actually experiences.

That gap? It lives in your behaviour. Not your words.
